About Me

We can’t believe Shark is still available!!

Shark is a sweet, goofy, love bug. He is a great Velcro dog and will happily follow you from room to room just to see what’s what. He looks at you with as much love and adoration as he can muster and you cannot help but melt.

He is extremely food motivated and smart, which is the perfect combination for fun training sessions that will keep you laughing as you watch him connect dots to get treats.

And Shark LOVES to play! If it squeaks, he loves it. He is also a born retriever and enjoys a game of tug for interactive play or will happily play with his foster sister for as long as she’ll let him. He’s still working on leash manners but has loved exploring the outside world on his walks.

Shark is doing very well in the house training and crate training department.

Personality

  • Silly, energetic and playful.
  • Fast learner who is food motivated.  Hopes up and down when it’s feeding time!
  • Sweet boy that is eager to please.
  • Loves to be where his people or other dogs are.

Perfect Home

  • Active family that has the energy and patience for a puppy
  • A home with a playful dog would be a bonus to help burn that puppy energy
  • Dog Compatibility: Would love to have a canine playmate that would appreciate his puppy energy. Loves to play with other dogs.
  • Cat Compatibility: Fine with a dog-savvy cat. He's become less interested in the resident cat in the foster home. He just wants the cat to play with him, but is learning that she is not interested.
  • Kid Compatibility: Still mouthy and jumps up and learning his manners, so better suited to older kids. And kids need to be supervised with pups!

My Story

Shark came into the rescue when his owner wasn’t able to find a good home for him.  Shark’s mom is a petite pocket Lab mix, but we’re unsure who is Dad was.  Based on Shark’s looks (and his big paws) and personality and retriever tendencies, we think he was likely a Lab.   In any case, Shark is 100% adorable.  He is a healthy, happy, and curious puppy who is eager to learn and to be loved.  If he could play with a dog every day, he would be a happy guy, but he also loves to spend time with his people.  Shark is so smart, and he’s eager to be part of your family and your new best friend.

Foster Update

Shark has been in foster care for two weeks and is doing quite well. He’s a happy, sweet, playful pup who loves being near his people and who is also enjoying playing with the big dogs in the house. He can’t quite understand why they don’t always want to play with him. Maybe it has something to do with those sharp puppy teeth!
